Tom & Rayma on The Great American Loop
On May 31, 2025, this trio started a long-planned adventure of doing the Great American Loop - follow along as Tom and Rayma navigate the waters of much of the eastern United States. Be sure to check the different pages along the way because they change with the times - and changing plans.
The Journey Ahead
The Great Loop - a multi-year 6,000-mile journey around the eastern United States and Canada’s interconnected water passages - loosely as appears in this map.
Tom and Rayma, captaining their power catamaran “Our Delite”, are doing the Loop in three segments: In 2025, they traveled from Annapolis, up the Hudson River to the Erie Canal, then westward to Buffalo, across Lake Erie, up to Detroit and through Lake St. Claire, into Lake Huron, around to Lake Michiganm eventually making their way to Chicago, down the Illinois River to the Missouri, down the Mississippi, then across the Ohio River to the Kentucky and Tennessee Rivers. They end the first leg in Lake Iuka in Mississippi.
In 2026, on the Second Leg, Our Delite will head south on the Tenn-Tom to Mobile, Alabama, and along the Gulf Coast of the Florida panhandle over to Tampa. The Third (and final) Leg will begin in February 2027, south along the Gulf Coast around Florida and north along the Inter-coastal Waterways of the Atlantic, back to Annapolis.
This website is intended to memorialize their exploits.
