Leg 2: Day 5

October 19, 2026: Our anchorage was heaven. Quiet, secure and beautiful. This morning we woke to mist on the river and the sunrise coming through the trees. What a sight. We had a not too hurried departure with one lock today within the first four miles. Then it was sun and a beautiful day on the river.

We are on the lookout for alligators now and while we didn’t see any, Tom and Dan did spot these deer. As we go along the river, some folks are out and wave at us (yes, we wave back). We are now in Demopolis for a couple of days before heading down to Mobile.
