Looping the old fashioned way

We didn’t get to meet the Looper that has been on this kayak for something like 416 days thus far. We saw him but he was getting taken to dinner by a local.

While at Blind River we looked out and saw this cat walking down the dock. The sailboat owner came out and yelled at it to get back on the boat and it did. Well that was it, Rayma had to go visit the CATS. This is their sixth boat

!

As they frequently do, Tom and John grabbed a total stranger to ask questions while we were at dinner. That stranger turned out to be Lisa, who introduced us to an entire legal/political position that we had never heard of. She is part of a movement sometimes called the Sovereign Citizens or de jure assembly. The belief is that the current governments (federal and state) are not legitimate. It was a bizare but interesting encounter.

According to Lisa, her US Passport has a bolded “A” which means she has diplomatic immunity because she is an American, not a citizen. She also claims she does not have to pay federal taxes. She gave us a rather long description on the differnece between being an American and being a US citizen. She also believes that our federal taxes are split 60% to the British government and 40% to the Vatican.
