Day 90: Tourists stuff in St. Louis
Tom always likes the special effects!

Above photos show the views, both east and west, from the top of the Arch. When we were done with the Arch, we headed over to the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

August 29, 2025: What’s the most obvious touristy thing to do in St. Louis? Visit the Arch of course. So that is exactly what we did. Part of the experience was watching a movie about the construction which was really fascinating. Construction took about three years and was completed in October 1965. Scariest part? The constructions workers did not tie off! (Where was OSHA?) The Arch is the tallest monument in America (it’s 630 feet tall).
In a couple of days, Our Delite will be seen floating south on that Mississippi River!
The Botanical Gardens were huge. The one photo of a ceiling is part of the museum. Those GIGANTIC floating lily pads are real. It would really be something to see these gardens in springtime. While Tom and Dan were focused on the flora and fauna, Rayma was more focused on the artwork as demonstrated by the photos.
