Leg 2: Day 4

October 18, 2026: Our Delite pushed off from the Columbus Marina (great stay!) at 9:30 am, which is sort of a late start, only to have to wait outside the lock for about an hour. Nevertheless, we had no issues all day. A beautiful day as we left Mississippi behind us and headed into Alabama. This was only challenging today because we had to anchor (our second time anchoring for a night) because there was no marina available.

We were entering the lock behind another boat and to our surprise there was an old paddle boat built into the shoreline!

Very little traffic on the river today and the scenery got better (more interesting) although we have yet to see an alligator.
