October 30, 2026: We woke to a beautiful dawn and still waters in Carrabelle. We knew we had a long day ahead (125 miles) so we wanted to leave early but sunrise wasn’t until 7:53 am. Nevertheless, our start was so sublime but as soon as we got outside the protection of Carrabelle’s entrance all that came to an abrupt stop. For the next four (4) hours we were in rough waters and winds. Tom was diligent at the helm keeping Our Delite on course. (Rayma made the mistake of going below for something and that triggered motion sickness.)
Finally, at about 1:30 pm the water started to calm and Our Delite pulled into Crystal River with daylight to spare. We looked around and found we were surrounded by water fowl - pelicans, seagulls and others. Friendly locals at the dock recommended Seafood Sellers for dinner and what a great find. Jimmy - the owner - came by our table did some magic tricks and told us the recipes were his mothers. Jimmy’s mamma had some great recipes! Tom and Rayma pronounced their dinners the best of the Loop.
