Preparing for Leg #2

We arrived at Safe Harbor Aqua Yachts on Pickwick Lake, outside of Iuka, MS, this morning. We made a stop at grocery and liquor stores before getting to the boat for necessary provisions. There was also laundry to be done and general clean up inside and out (including the refrigerator).

We anticipate pushing off tomorrow - having received a notice that the third lock we need to traverse will be closed for repairs starting October 18. Hurry hurry!

We will not be the only Loopers trying to make it as many hunkered down out of the danger of the recent hurricane that went ashore in Pensacola, Florida. As can be observed by this video, clear skies now.

The “we” at this point is Tom, Rayma and their friend Dan. Dan was also part of the crew in the last 3 weeks of Leg #1 so … he knew what he was getting into! Unfortunately, we are missing our very beloved Chief Security Officer, Zander. He stayed home with his Norwegian dogsitter for this leg only. Zander will be missed but as he hated the boat and he was an added complication we opted to leave him home for this leg.
