Days 69-71: Sun and Storms in Petoskey, MI

August 7-9: The Australians left on August 8 - heading for Costa Rica. The weather conditions were such that we had already requested an extended stay at the Petoskey City Marina and that weather started showing up today. Other boaters were taking note as well - there was a National Data Buoy Center warning of “waves 4 to7 feet occasionally to 9 feet.” Those are no-go conditions.

So it was laundry. And naps. And taking Zander for a walk and a run (see video below of a very happy dog). We walked out on the jetty where all kinds of people were jumping off into the water. And then of course Zander had to have a bath to cool down. (This has the added bonus of reducing the amount of shedding on the boat). Then it was time for us to walk to dinner. On an experiment we set up a camera to do a time lapse of Zander’s vigilance in waiting for us. Sweating like a beer stein removed from the freezer on the way to dinner, on the way back we had to take cover from a down pour (see video below).
