Days 67-68: St. Ignace to Petoskey, MI
Liz with a statue of Ernest Hemingway in Petoskey during our after-dinner stroll through town.

A fish statue! We came across this on our post-lunch walk around St. Ignace.
Above is a time lapse of us pulling up to the fuel dock in Petoskey before heading into our slip. Every marina and every dock is different - differently situated, different organization, different types of dock surfaces and cleat methods. Thus far, every marina’s dockhands have been helpful and truly appreciated.
The journey from St. Ignace (Upper Michigan) on Lake Huron to Petoskey, on Lake Michigan, includes going under the MacKinaw Bridge on the Straits. The McKinaw Bridge is seen in the first (upper most) video on the left.
Cruising down the eastern shore of Lake Michigan on the way to Petoskey we got to gawk at these enormous (multi-million-dollar) homes. We had taken off earlier than normal due to forecasted winds and waves but had an easier time of it as a result. (See the second video on the left.)
To the left is photographic evidence that Zander has become a spoiled four-legged child. Gone are the days of not being allowed on furniture. And the begging has gotten much more “up close and personal” (if still very polite) since we have started feeding him three times a day instead of two. He does not love the boating life. He lost considerable weight in the first few weeks of living on the boat. We have been trying to put the weight back on him and he is taking full advantage of our guilt. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Marcia learned Rayma didn’t have a real raincoat on the boat and so kindly sent one to her. And it’s orange! This was over the top considerate. Thanks Marcia (& Keith).
