Day 65*: Day trip to Government Island

August 3, 2025: Lazy day start but we eventually all squeezed into Lil’ Delite (the dinghy) and put-putted across and around to Government Island where there is a public beach and trails. The five of us (including Zander) were the only ones around when we arrived. We took a little trail that led to the Lake Huron side of the island and then came back to the dinghy for a snack. The Aussies took a swim. By this time, plenty of other people had arrived and we dingh’d back to Our Delite.

*Somehow, in the course of writing this journal, the counting of the days got … wrong. Because we started on May 31, and this is August 3, the record has now been corrected to identify this as our 65th day.
