Day 59: Cedarville, Michigan - a little slice of heaven

August 2, 2025: We left MacKinaw to head northeast across Lake Huron to Cedarville. A small but very happening village! The entry off of Lake Huron required us to slow down - first because of relatively shallow water and second because we were gawking at the boathouses.

Swans sliding by the marina!

Cedarville is a beautiful area and the boating life is in full swing here. Bonus: A real bakery! And a grocery store within easy walking distance. We had dinner at a local microbrewery.

When we arrived, Tom had to back the boat into a slip where we would be alongside another (larger) boat. Everyone came out to help and Tom received gobs of compliments on his handling of the boat.

We took a post-dinner ride on the dinghy and as we were passing one of the houses with a private dock, the owner (Nick) came out and invited us onto the dock for a drink! While we declined, it was nevertheless much appreciated and lots of fun.
