Day 66: Aussies on the Loop
We left Cedarville (regrettably) and very slowly had a lovely cruise to nearby Hessel. In the Les Cheneaux Channel and through the Mackinac Bay - we were tourists. Lovely homes, boathouses, and smooth water.
These are summer homes!
This is a tiny island - not sure if it’s a home or what.
Cedarville and the surrounding area, including Hessel, is beautiful and laid back. It is quiet - even on the street walking to and from the restaurant or grocery store. This atmosphere is truly relaxing and what we imagined we would encounter - dream come true.
On earlier days and nights, the skies were not clear due to smoke from Canadian fires. Today, that cleared up significantly which is fortunate because the temperature heated up.
Tomorrow we head for St. Ignace - which means leaving these quiet back bays and going back over Lake Huron.
More than anywhere else thus far on the trip, this is an area to which we would return.
