Day 84: Patience is a virtue

August 23, 2025: We had a short day scheduled - only 30 miles; however, it involved two locks. The first lock, within a mile of our starting point (Harborside Marina) we had to wait 90 minutes to get inside the lock because of a huge tug and its barges. We later learned it had 13 barges it was pushing down the river. The second lock, within two miles of our destination, we had to wait MORE THAN TWO HOURS to get inside the lock. So, as a result. Instead of a 2-3 hour journey, today ended up being six hours long.

The above photos show a tug in front of us at the beginning of the lock and the second (right photo) is about 20 feet down into the lock.

Our Delite can make a big wake at 16-18 knots and these jet skis were taking advantage of it.
