Day 85: Cruising the Illinois River
August 24, 2025: We started the day with a two hour wait at a lock but after that there were no delays and we cruised at about 17 knots to Peoria, Illinois.
We are staying at the Peoria Boat Club marina in East Peoria. We had very good dinners at the Thyme Kitchen & Craft Beers Restaurant. Followed by finding that Zander had damaged one of the blinds on board while we were gone and …. doing laundry.
Tomorrow we continue our downstream direction heading for the Mississippi River. We intend to cover 120 miles - which is a long long day on a boat.

This was a sign inside the Thyme Kitchen restaurant.
Among the things we saw today include fish jumping out of the water and white pelicans with black-tipped wings. And we got to pose with the Richard Pryor statue.
Richard Pryor was, apparently, from Peoria.
